From the early beginnings of the Terryville Fire Department, there has always been one man in charge, the Chief of the Department. The position of Chief is one that dedication, commands respect, and is vital to the well being of the department and its members. Since 1948, the Terryville Fire Department has seen many men hold this position and their memory, as well as the memory of their days in office is at the core of the organization.

Chief Kolb joined the Terryville Fire Department in 1977. Prior to joining Terryville, was a member of the Commack Fire Department, where he joined in 1970. Chief Kolb is a past Captain of Ladder-Rescue Company 4 and served as Chief of Department in 2001.
